How can I help promote this? Beyond just pimping it on my journal?

Hello! We're still trying to come up with a closing date for biddings and such and then will start the promotions but thank you for volunteering to help with that. Maybe contact the mods of fandom communities and really wherever else you think people might be interested in spreading the word? :)

Hello - two questions, and I'm sorry if they are already answered elsewhere in a place I just haven't found yet:

Where is the money going - ie to a charity nominated by the offerer, the bidder or the comm?

And uh, are we allowed to bid yet? (I have already seen something I'd like!)

no worries. I'm sort of scrambling around this place myself so I'm sorry for the delays!

1. I have set up a post here about charities. essentially, it will be like help_haiti if you were involved in that - highest bidder will donate to the charity of the offerer's choice, and if there is no preference on their part then you are both free to donate a charity of your preference so long as it is on that list and the mods received confirmation of your donations

2. not quite yet but we will be starting the bidding soon. there are a few more admin-esque things that need to go up to minimize chaos but an official post should go up when the bidding officially begins! thanks so much for the interest and keep an eye on this space :)

let me know if you would be interested in helping with the community housekeeping and sorting/logging of information once the auctions get rolling because that would be amazingly helpful. If not, then no worries. I'll let you know when the comm is 100% ready to go and you can help advertise! :)

To answer your other questions, the reason I am waiting for the bidding to begin later is that I think it would be better to get the word out there first as we have not yet had time to do a lot of promotion. Also, I am currently doing most of this by myself, as the other mods will be available to help out a little later on, so I'm trying to time it in a way that is manageable. If you or anyone you know is available and willing to help out extensively with keeping tabs on the posts and confirmations for the next few weeks, I can try to move it up to Saturday or Sunday. I hope you can understand my situation.

Also, the misc. post was not made by me and I can't seem to edit it for some reason. I will contact pinkfinity to clarify the second round details. Thanks for pointing it out.
