That Monotous Little Thing called School
Heh...I've got a new entry, eh? Anyways, yah...this time I'm pretty pissed. We used to have this time called tutorial block in our school...50 something minutes...we can pretty much go make-up tests, do homework for all our classes (something people who are in teams and clubs and after school activities...or working, like me, desperately need), talk to teachers for help on certain topics, pick which ever class we're struggling in and just plain ol' free time...It's a flexible multi-purpose period right before lunch...
Anyways, stupid ol' Alberta Education comes in and says it can't be a free period no more...instead, it becomes a mandatory period...No more independent learning bullshit and stuff...Heck, the reason I picked this school was for that "bullshit"...Da*n straight...(I didn't go to this even more independent learning based school coz' it was too sports-oriented..but that school is pretty much screwed right now...the requirement's coming down on 'em hard...)
No...instead of that all-important multi-purpose time, we get stuck in one class for a grand total of 2+ hours instead of just 1 and a quarter...which is practically pointless...(I'm in Catholic school...which means I end up in 2+ hours of Religion every other week...wat da hell...?)
It's liek their encouraging us to be mindless study drones instead of giving us the free in-the-midddle of school time with access to all school resources and stuff that we need so that after school, we can grow in other areas than just mentally...No...we HAVE to do homework after school...
Blegh...my stupid rant...anyways...I'm counting down the days 'til the Hockey season starts! Judging from the preseason, it's gonna be wild...and it's quite ironic that my favourite team is taking on the Wild...Sept. 27 today...9 days to go and the ice will fly! Oct. 5 is D-Day! Oh man...can't wait...
Hmm...what else...oh yeah...the province raised it's minimum wage level...so now I get paid exactly minimum wage..blegh...well, what am I complaining about...it's still 50 cents higher than my old rate per hour...
Ooh...and they're giving everyone in Alberta $400 for Christmas! Whoopie...I know it's vote-buying..but heck do I care...I'm a resident and underage...I can't vote! MWAHAHA!
Anyways, winter's coming soon..yes, I know it's october...and yes, winter is coming...very, very soon...I mean, this is the Western Frozen Desert of course...lolz...
heh..I get to go to Jasper...nice place...trees..snow..mountains..the usual stuff I've seen on every family trip since summer last year...blegh...My mom said we were going to LA and Vegas this Christams, but hse cancelled it..too expensive...oh well, I take what I get...
