15x01 Back and to the Future

I'm still alive!

Let's do this, but old fashioned style where I mostly give overview thoughts. It's been three years since I watched these episodes, so this will be interesting... my memory is fuzzier than when I usually would have done my rewatches just a few months after the end of the season.

It's the one time I ( Read more... )

rewatch s15

The ghosts behind weirdly DIFFERENT with DIFFERENT manifestations then when they were first killed is just a giant FU to continuity that I got used to in the Carver/Dabb eras.

We certainly had to get used to it because it happened a lot!

So you got to your review of season 15 before I finished my 15 year rewatch! I made it through season 11 and then the big move and now that I spend all day grandma-ing I haven't had any time to watch the remainder. :( (Though grandma-ing is honestly more rewarding than watching the last 4 seasons under Dabb...)

I will be very interested in your take on 15.

I'm interested in my take too! LOL... I'm trying to keep the task as light as possible, so I do apologize for the typos and poor grammar! I'm probably not going to be regular with my watches, but at least I've started now!

Grandmaing is definitely more rewarding than the last 4 seasons, and I think Sam and Dean would agree that you have your priorities in the right place! ;)

I also think that the bullet in Sam's shoulder should have been given a more significant value. She received too little attention. I enjoy reading your comments on season 15, especially on the last episodes.

"Supernatural really lost it's sense of "if you can't do something well, do it off screen" rule.

The brother moments are still the best part!"

100% agree with both these statements!!!

Also i had such hope that show would be a bit darker and grimmer but it wasn't to be.

oh well, PRETTY BOYS!!!!

Indeed! I was jazzed about them finally doing a storyline that I'd wanted for 10 years... or, I guess 9 years... but alas, back when I wanted it, the show was dark and grim, not daylight ghost-mob bright.

That sums up exactly how much I don't remember about that episode - I used to rewatch every episode multiple times but the Dabb era wore me down and season 15 I've only seen once. All I remember is that I liked Alex's Belphagor, he was a lot of fun, plus being annoyed as hell about the stupid daylight ghost mob and the middle finger to canon the writers stuck up (which is pretty much the whole of that season, really).

The LJ so called Modern Edit feature is best avoided - you should be able to switch back, I think. I've still got the old format, thankfully.

Yeah, as you can tell by how long it's taken me to get around to my S15 rewatch, I wasn't overly fond of it, and my desire to revisit it was...well, non-existent.

But yeah, daylight ghost mob where super-powered ghosts fist fight and barely do anything? NO A GOOD WRITING IDEA.

I'll figure out how to get back my old format for posts, hopefully. :P
