Nikolae muttered to himself. He hated being wet, but that was what happened when you wanted to get some decent food for your housemates, especially if one of them was a little girl. So he brought the things they weren't going to eat until they really had to, knowing that this new person would gladly scarf them down: sardines, one odd container of kippers and anchovies, and some other random things he would hopefully trade for.

Knocking on the door, he waited for a response.

The door swung open, and...there was Mary, looking much less pained than he had during the video call. His icy eyes flicked over the man in front of him, then he smiled - more of a twitch at the corners of his lips than anything else. "Ah, Nikolae Thomas. Pleased to meet you in person...come on in. It's wet out there."

With that, he stepped out of the way, hand still dangling awkwardly in mid-air after opening the door.

There was...an impressive collection of cans adorning his counter at this point. It seemed a few other townspeople didn't enjoy sardines very much.

"Good to see that you are in health," Nikolae said. Stepping inside, he gave him his thanks. "Will you be able to survive on fish alone? You might want to keep some fruits about."

Overall, the house was like other houses he had seen, and oddly, quite similar to the one he, Jaime, and Samara lived in.

He shut the door behind the other man, watching him walk in for a moment before wandering into the kitchen. He moved a little...strangely - his stance was very loose and slouchy, and he swung his arms a lot.

"I'll be all right. I've kept some canned fruit and vegetables. I like sardines, but really, living on nothing but sardines would just be crazy." Right Mary. It would be crazy. "I've still got plenty of things you can trade for, if you like."

Nikolae kept an eye on him, wondering why he was moving so oddly. Was he weak from malnutrition or was he just putting on some sort of front?

"Indeed," he replied. "Do keep some bread for yourself as well." Picking up his bag, he opened it and revealed the foods none of them would eat and the things Samara refused to. "Would you happen to have something like oatmeal, any fresh vegetables, or soup cans?"

In point of fact, it was neither malnutrition nor a front...he was just a bit odd, and moved in awkward ways merely because he...moved in awkward ways. Turning on his heel, he looked to Nikolae, offering a weak, queasy sort of twitch of the lips that was meant to be a smile.

"I do. I've put the things I'd prefer to keep on the counters...feel free to look around for what you need. I'm still learning where everything is." With that said, he moved to the fridge, retrieving some carrots and broccoli from within.

Nikolae pressed his lips in a sort of acknowledging smile as well. He avoided the items on the counter, though he placed what he had to offer on it.

"Thank you," he said, accepting the carrots and broccoli.

Looking into the refrigerator again, he saw that there was three cartons of orange juice.

"Do you have a need for this much orange juice?"

Samara might like it.
