Months earlier, Tron might have found this world fascinating. Now, worry and confusion plagued him, making it impossible to enjoy anything about it. Quorra had found him the day before yesterday, telling him things of Flynn that conflicted with what he'd known of the User the day before that. Yesterday, they'd both been gone, leaving him even more confused and concerned. On Coruscant, Kevin had almost lost his life less then a week before. And here he was, unable to protect him or watch after him until he recovered, and alone. It made everything about this place less then amusing in his eyes.
He'd wandered through the town for hours, doing his best to ignore the growling in his stomach that told him he needed something to eat and searching relentlessly for the missing User and Iso. When he began to feel light-headed, though, and his mouth felt like it was stuffed with clothing-material, he had decided it was best if he finally give in and do something about his body's need for sustenance. That was how he found his way into the large S-Mart in the center of town.
He wasn't sure what an S-Mart was, just that it had advertised food on the large signs outside. There was no one that he could see once inside, not even store clerks or cashiers like he'd become used to seeing in the shopping locations on Coruscant. He found the food aisles quickly enough and found things that looked somewhat similar to the things he'd eaten on the other planet - something labeled an "apple," a few pieces of bread, and slices of cheese. He'd gone from one end of the store to the other, munching at the food as he went, before he really noticed the way the bread took all the moisture out of his mouth, making his already parched mouth even worse. He went in search of the aisle with the drinks and found it easily enough. It was filled with shelves and shelves of glass bottles, some of them large, others small and boxed with 5 other bottles of similar size. Many of them were filled with strangely-colored liquids, but he stayed away from those, remembering the brightly-colored foods in the User world usually meant they had been processed and mixed with unhealthy things that were meant to catch the eye and draw children in to their sweet flavors. His stomach couldn't take the overprocessed, super-sweet snack foods.
He finally settled on a tall, clear bottle of water that should had been labeled "Absolute," except that the person who labeled it forgot that there should have been an "e" at the end of the word. He didn't pay that much mind - Users had scattered thoughts and were prone to forgetfulness - and instead cracked open the metal cap and took a drink. The small shock he got from the liquid startled him for a moment, and he stared at the bottle as he let the burn melt away. He was amazed by it, and by the soothing tingle he felt a moment later. It was the closest thing he'd come to liquid energy in the User realms, and the surprise of finding something that tasted so much like his real home put a smile on his face before he was drinking from the bottle again, taking a long, relieved drink of the clear water.
When he came back up for breath, he felt the tingle already beginning to grow, starting in his spine and creeping down into his muscles. It was a wonderful feeling, a type of relaxing glow numbed the aches he hadn't even realized he felt in his muscles and started a calm in his mind that was a relief after his uncontrollable worrying. He wondered how strong it could become, and as he walked the aisles, bottle of water and chosen foods in hand, he chased after the delicious burn of the drink until the container was completely empty and he found his thoughts slow and relaxed.
