Day 79 | We're not in Space anymore, Toto

Aug 05, 2011 23:56

Who: Tron, Open
When: Day 79, morning
Where: Lost somewhere he doesn't recognize.
What: Trying not to panic.
Rating: G for now.

There was a distinctive shift in the world when Tron felt himself stirring to full wakefulness. The first thing he noticed was the peculiar ache in his back and the uncomfortable way the bed underneath him felt. He stirred, grunting, his face screwing itself into a pained grimace before the feeling of cool air stirred him further out of sleep, combining with strange sounds and an unusual silence that was absolutely unnatural.

When he opened his one-eyed gaze, he found himself shocked into full consciousness, sitting straight up in the surprise of finding himself not his bedroom in the apartment. In fact, it hardly looked anything like the User world he'd become used to living in at all! There were buildings, yes, and the plant life forms Flynn had explained to him at the Jedi Temple, but now the two were combined in a strange formation. Trees and Bushes and Flowers and Grass grew in not-quite-random formations around the buildings, and despite his confusion he was thankful for the shade from the sun that the Trees gave. But the strange shape of the buildings themselves confused him further. They seemed quite small in comparison to both the ones on the Grid and the ones that covered the entire surface of Coruscant's surface.

Had he been "transported" again? The Users had said the Force thing that Revan had manipulated to bring them all together was unstable because of his actions and their presence, and stranger things had happened. But if so, then where had he ended up this time???

He rifled through his pants pocket, pulling out his datapad and activating the device, and waited as it booted. To his surprise, however, while the Programs started up just fine and the files appeared intact, the communication device's connection to the network failed to connect. He could still see the old recordings that had been downloaded to the datapad, but he could not contact the others.

He felt his first moment of panic, then, worry bubbling up in his chest as he looked around himself, instinctively searching for any sign of his User. Flynn was still hurt from the explosion in the hospital! Sam was still returning home in the flight crew he'd joined and left with weeks before! He knew Flynn would have tried to say he was fine, he could take care of himself, but it was still Tron's duty to look after him! The fact that he had failed to see the trap for what it was and had allowed the User to simply walk into it on his own simply cemented his need to help the User in his recovery the same way Kevin had helped him through his own.

He scrambled to his feet, clutching the datapad protectively to his chest lest he drop the device and destroy the System inside of it without Flynn there to repair it should something happen to it, his scruffy, heavily-scarred features holding a look of distress as he spun around once as if that would show him where his Users had gone.

"FLYNN? FLYNN, WHERE ARE YOU!?" He received no answer for his trouble and fought back the fear that threatened to latch on, gripping it's claws in his chest. "SAM? SAM FLYNN!" No, no, no, no, no, no, no...They had to be here, too, surely they wouldn't have been left in that dangerous world without him there to look after them! They just had to be here with him!

He tried to access the network on the datapad one more time before tucking the device back into the large pocket on the thigh of his pants for safety, and made his way off of the cool, shaded lawn he'd woken up on, down the street, cupping his hands around his mouth and calling out for his Users in a voice that he would never have admitted sounded just a little bit terrified. He...he just couldn't possibly be all alone!

"FLYNN! SAM, WHERE ARE YOU!? KEVIN FLYNN!"
