Han Wudi!! Huo Qubing!! Wu Meiniang!! Li Zhi!!
Today was the BEST DAY EVERRRRR.
We tried to find a public bus that goes to the Han Wudi Mausoleum as well as the Wu Ze Tian's Mausoleum. The policeman at the station directed us to this place... A travel agency. -.-
Anyway on the way we saw some XinJiang people. I actually thought that they were quite good looking. But they had the dangerous look of people turned outlaws due to poverty and destitution.
In any case the guide was pretty eloquent and soon we were on a tour bus with a lot of old people. We went to the HWD Tomb first and I was enthralled with it. Omg, AM I REALLY so near HWD AKA Raymond Lam's dead body, buried just 30 m below ground!? I heard Huo Qu Bing and Wei Qing were buried together with him too. Anyway, there were some performances by this chinese orchestra and I really enjoyed it as well. It's like watching Wei Zi Fu all over again. We din get to spend much time there. BUT. It was still awesome. Anyway, I realised that there were many apple trees all around the tomb. Glad to see Mr Liu Che has fertilised the grounds for these apples. Hahahah. I also learned that the idiom 倾国倾城 came from Madame Li, Han Wu Di's favourite concubine. A calligrapher also tried to sell us some calligraphy there.
After we have seen HWD's mausoleum, we went to the Wu Mei Niang's tomb, Qian Ling. It also housed this prince. Yi De. He was like in a stone coffin. We went into the tomb and it was so dusty me and YW started coughing.
Frankly, I was more interested in taking pictures with the stone that commemorated Li Zhi. HAHHAHAHA. Had an icecream there. I heard from the guide that WZT's tomb had not been dug out yet, so nobody really knows what's inside.
After this, we went to Fa Men Temple. It was gigantic and looked really well preserved. The guide said that the only woman who were able to pray at Fa Men Si was WZT as only emperors had the right to enter into the sacred place for praying. Loved all the trivia.
