sooo...
thursday... most everyone has moved out of grainger hall, and PUC for that matter... it's been such an unbelievable week, and it's barely hit me that this school year's over... in many ways, this has been my best school year yet at PUC... not saying that last year sucked, b/c it didn't... it's just that this year has progressed into a beautiful school year...
got an A on my calculus final, but it didn't quite boost my grade high enough for the A, so i'll have to settle for the A-...
chris and i talked about the whole groomsman thing... he felt really bad about it, wrote a really personal letter of apology, and chandra called and we talked about it, and in the end, i'm a groomsman again, by choice... and this time, i actually feel like a part of the group that's wanted, unlike before, where i wasn't quite sure where i fit in...
had our last beanbag conversation with andy about the wrap up of the school year... to think, we had them faithfully, almost every day first quarter... but people get busy... it's been such a pleasure to have him around this year... he's probably one of the big reasons why this year went really well...
i treated angeli and ty to lunch at pizzeria tra vigne, for all their hard work and dedication as interactions staff... always fun to enjoy time with each other... we also went to the big dipper for ice cream... my first time there... such nice people working there... afterwards, i helped andy and neal clean up, and saw them off...
linda and young both invited me to the senior music major dinner with the faculty... actually, we joked around that all four of them, linda, young, krinstin, and michelle flooded my voice mail with messages... last year, chandra invited me as her guest, and this year, they did... we had a fun jam session in practice room 229, then all took linda's car and drove to compadres... linda and i ended up joining doc and dr davis' side, while the the other three got stuck on the other side of the table... crazy how there just happened to be a natural rift... sat inbetween doc and alex, had a burrito maximo, which didn't satisfy... not a fan of taco meat, when i thought it would be shredded beef... hmmm...
the majority of us headed over to the wheeler's house for strawberry shortcake, and the five of us ended up having a "porta-party..." haha... a new inside joke among us... it's funny... we just needed to find a parking spot, saw a portapotty, and linda ended up saying "let's park next to the porta-party" and the rest was history... enjoyed the dessert, then headed back... i guess that's when it hit me that most of these fine people aren't gonna be around next year... ::exhale::
on the carride back, linda and i discussed our future plans to take over the music department in fifteen years... we shared a bit of our insight with dr davis and doc, and they were peeved that it wasn't sooner... i actually want to go out and teach middle school and high school for at least 10 years, then head to teach at college... mrs narducci ended up defending me, saying they needed me in that field, that "you all would be NOTHING without your elementary music teacher!" haha... i told linda that, depending on whether or not i have a good or bad teaching experience, it will vary from 5-15 years... linda planning on teaching music history and strings, and i'm planning on teaching music theory and winds... it would be fun! and our department wouldn't have this rift... oh, looking forward to the future...
oh... fun times with the music nerds... graduation weekend is all i have left to do at PUC...
the "seniors" and their +1 with our favorite teacher...
the best rockin' party of the year!
