20%

when i saw my dad today at my aunts apartment. I already knew that something was up. Later while on the mini bus he told me that my grandmother's liver function has a 20% chance of recovery. The first thing I thought of was, what does that mean? what does that percentage mean. what does any percentage mean? The doctors still don't know how long shes got which makes me think, so what good is you telling me the percentage? the whole idea of medicine to is do things that help prolong our life isn't it? I mean what good is medicine if our time here is unimportant. What good is it giving me a percentage that essentially doesn't define anything? so if her liver has a 80% chance of failing, i know what will eventually happen to her, but the question of the hour is of the hour. does that mean she will die sooner or later? i'm assuming its sooner but what is sooner? is it 2 weeks instead of 2 months? or is it 2 years instead of 10? We weren't asking for 10 years anyways Two extra years can be good enough. What are you trying to tell me? What does it mean? What does it all mean?
