I got a copy of Serenity: The Shepherd's Tale about a week or so ago, and it's pretty good. I liked the writing and the dialogue a lot and I didn't like the art when I first opened the book, but it won me over about three pages in. Still, I was a little bit let down by it. Sam Mendes is apparently attached to direct a movie version of Preacher.

I, personally, think this is a pretty bad idea.  The sprawling, far-ranging, episodic nature of the story is one of the things about Preacher that makes it so good; it would have been perfect for an hour-long HBO series.  It can probably be made to work in a feature-length film ( Read more... )

Preview ad for Joss Whedon's new series, Dollhouse. It's coming as a mid-season replacement in January.



Since it's on Fox, it has in all likelihood already been cancelled. I hope they at least got to do enough episodes for a decent box set when the complete series comes out on DVD.
