So I need to not be all freaking out and assuming stuff.
At work today, some kid's dad never showed up. I called the mom and she said she would be there in ten minutes. I needed to leave right away because I had to get my dog and it was raining. So, my teacher's aide stayed with the kid. Then, the kid's dad showed up and got her. So, my aide left and went home. Then, a minute later, the mom showed up and was freaking out over the lights being off and wondering where her kid was. She went to the main campus and asked the principal what was going on. The principal called me on my cell phone and I said I had left and didn't know if maybe my aide was in the copy room or what. So, I called my aide who said the dad had gotten the kid. Then I called the principal back and she said that the dad had just showed up and she quickly hung up. I don't know if she was mad at me for not having stayed with the kid or what. as I've told them countless times, I must leave by 4:15 to get my dog, and if my aide says she is staying with the kid, I assume the kid is fine and it's not a big deal. I think it was just miscommunication here and I should not get freaked out over it. Tomorrow is my big evaluation and I find out if I'm being rehired next year so I am already freaking out. Last year the school didn't rehire me and said my Math state standardized scores were too low, but I didn't teach math, so what the fuck? Now I don't know what to think.
