I'm a little more relaxed about flying out tomorrow. Still don't like it, but I'll deal. I'm looking forward to weirding out my siblings by explaining my weird relationship situation to them. My parents will be confused too, but they're less fun to weird out. Luckily, everyone has the sense not to tell the grandparents for the most part, (Judy would be okay with it, but it would cause irreparable shock to my grandfather.)
This morning, I meandered down to The Salvation Army to look for funeral-appropriate clothing. I don't normally like shopping there since they're creepy fuckers, but sometimes they're the best solution nearest to my house. I got a pair of pinstripe men's pants (bordering on navy, but they're still dark enough to read black in most people's eyes), a white button up shirt and a black sweater. I'm going to revisit my goth days for footwear and use my Docs which is why I didn't want a skirt or dress.
I also grabbed a bunch of books including two Diana Wynne Jones, a teeny book of Goethe's letters (for Anthony maybe) and a weird Japanese-based fantasy novel that I've seen about the bookstores but wasn't willing to buy at full price. I have no idea whether I'll like it.
I really don't need new books since Stephanie lent me three from her house and I have a huge to be read pile already and I'm also in one of those modes where I panic because the world has too many books that I need to read NOW.
I should probably go clean out the fridge now. Or take a shower. I really need a shower.
