You have no idea how pleased and delighted I am that this year you finally saw the light--and heard my Jewish mother's kvetching--and released two Hanukkah Wee Forest Folk. Maybe next year or sometime in the near future you'll release additional Judaica: Abraham (Almost) Sacrificing Isaac, The Killing of the Firstborn (i.e. The Tenth Plague), David Getting It On With Bathsheba, and Jezebel Being Eaten By Dogs. You know, the highlights of the Old Testament.
While you consider this project, please accept my belated thanks for releasing the Ancient Egyptian chess set. I myself own the Blue Pharoah and Queen. Have you ever thought about extending your line to the legendary Greeks? Greek heroes are always popular. I've drawn up some sample sketches here.
1. Achilles Won't Come Out and Play: A charming rendition of Achilles in his darling boar tusk helmet and little Dendra panoply, indulging in one of his epic sulks.
2. Bath-time For Agamemnon: Queen Clytemnestra prepares to welcome her husband home in true Mycenaean fashion, with labrys, net, and bar of soap. She's even wearing her best crown.
3. Little Miss Snake Priestess: A delightful priestess of Knossos with her pet snakes. What collector of Minoica wouldn't want this in his or her collection?
Please feel free to ask about other ideas for adorable Greek Heroes Wee Forest Folk. Who doesn't love a good Merry Thyestean Feast? Who doesn't want to display a charming vignette of Iphigenia Lounging Around At Aulis or Braille For Oedipus? Add Hector to your collection with Joyriding With Achilles. Start a conversation with Leda Swanning About.
I eagerly look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Laura Gill
