The children are spending the second half of half term with Tim, partly at my mum's house and partly at his parents' house. I've just waved them off and miss them already - the house is suddenly incredibly quiet! Not that I am really complaining... ;-)
We've actually had a really nice day. This morning I worked with them all to make sure their packing was done and done properly - the other weekend when I was going away as well, I trusted they'd packed everything right, and it turned out they'd forgotten various key items! This time I checked everything before it went in the bags so I know it's all properly done and they are well equipped.
We had a nice pasta lunch and then they disappeared in the front room to play harmoniously and cheerfully together on the Wii - I sat in the dining room listening to them laughing with a huge grin on my face! Then I went in and joined them and they showed me an episode of The Legend Of Dick And Dom on iplayer, which was brilliant - I have a huge soft spot for Dick and Dom!
We watched that until Tim arrived to collect them, and after lots of hugs they departed, and I waved them off and then shut the front door and listened to the silence - a mixture of blissful and perturbed I think sums it up! *grin*
Now I've made a cup of tea and am going to watch last night's Eastenders. My time is now absolutely my own for the next four days and I'm going to make the most of it!
