This week appears to be completely crazy-busy. But it is crazy-busy with really nice stuff that I will thoroughly enjoy so I don't really mind at all - it just means I won't have chance to stop, and am having to fit housework into the little corners of each day that are left empty!
This morning I'm off to Shavington to have coffee and chat and prayer with other ladies, which I'm really looking forward to. Then at lunchtime there is a meeting for the holiday club I am helping with in half term. I theoretically knew about this meeting, as it is on the calendar, and on my phone's calendar as well, but I had actually completely forgotten about it until Tim pointed it out to me at breakfast time - oops! I had scheduled this afternoon for going grocery shopping! Quick rethink, because there isn't enough time between the meeting and the school run to go and do the shopping.
So instead of cycling round this morning, I'm using the car. I cycled straight from the school run into town, got out the shopping money and went to the indoor market for sausages, eggs and oatcakes for tonight's tea. We have lunch stuff in already for today. Driving to Shavington means I have enough time now after going to town to sit and have a mug of tea and then also make a packed lunch before I set off again.
For the rest of the week's groceries, I'm going to wait until Tim is back from his tour this evening and then nip to Tesco (thank goodness for 24 hour supermarkets) in the car. By then I will have had the evening in which to make a menu plan and a shopping list.
Rest of the week goes like this:
Wednesday: I'm being a parent helper on Little Two's class trip to Little Moreton Hall. Hurrah! :-D
Thursday morning: Helping in Year Two (which is going really well by the way; I'm loving it, but haven't had chance to write about it in here yet. We're making a library!)
Thursday afternoon: Possibly having M round for a cuppa; must text him to check.
Thursday after school: Someone else (another M!) coming round for a cuppa and to drop some Crewe history stuff off for Tim.
Friday morning: Coffee and prayer with E and J
Friday afternoon: Doing the Buy Sell round with Tim
Last night was games night with the Helens, which was fabulous - we managed to play four different games which was very impressive - sometimes we end up just sitting and chatting and then say 'erm, hadn't we better play a game?'!! Helen C made mincemeat buns which were wonderful, and Helen W brought Kettle Chips which were wonderful too. All I provided was the table! (And boggle when we played that. Oh, and batteries for Pass The Bomb!).
So the week is terribly full. But I'm really looking forward to all of it! And now I had better drain this mug of tea and go and make myself a cheese sandwich ready for the meeting at lunchtime. :-)
Oh and while I am actually typing an entry, we'll have a quick knitting update. I learned to knit bobbles at the weekend which are much easier than I expected, and I completed a bobbled square for my blanket. I then started a cabled square (on the advice of
willowmina and
pim2005; it is now completed and says OXOXO on it which is very fine indeed :-D The blanket now has 18 squares and is big enough to drape over my knees and keep them warm when I'm knitting. I am very excited by it and it is beautiful (even if I do say so myself!)
As for the red lacy sock, I am fairly sure that I'm never going to knit the second one; I just don't like it enough. So I am going to rip it out and knit a different pair of socks with the wool. Stripy, probably, with some sort of pattern as well. Will update when I have decided!
