Got to sleep about 2.30 and was woken up with a very welcome mug of tea at about 20 past 8. I'm now up, munching an apple and pondering the day.
Today needs to include a bath and a hairwash (as a matter of great urgency; my hair feels as though it has things crawling in it - lovely), some tidying of the dining room, particularly my desk, and helping the children pack for two nights at Grandma and Grandpa's house! Tim and I are escaping tomorrow morning with the tent for a night away in North Staffordshire, all by ourselves - a much needed break for us both from the rigours of family life.
I also need to nip to Tesco and buy naan breads ready to have with our curry for tea tonight, because Tesco did a useless substitution with the home delivery on Tuesday and I had to give it back and get a refund.
At the moment the sun is shining. I can't quite believe this is going to last, given the fact that the 5 day forecast for our town yesterday showed rain, rain, rain, rain and rain...
One of the reasons I have decided to make lots of my lj public is so that I can share the link with friends who don't have a livejournal account and don't want or need one. I've been thinking about that for ages and pondering getting another, more public blog, but it seemed silly to have two, so I never did anything about it. The current situation which has led to this new arrangement has been quite a useful prod in the right direction, so welcome to anyone who is reading my lj for the first time! I think I have set this to share public entries on facebook, but I will wait and see how that works.
As for the children, overnight my mind has crystallised somewhat and I am going to call them Little One, Little Two and Little Three - that just seems to make the most sense in my head, though thank you all for the entertaining suggestions and I may well be thinking of them as Snap Crackle and Pop for some time to come! *grin*
