last night, we got a dusting of snow here. a mere dusting. like, it immediately melted on all paved surfaces and didn't accumulate over the blades on the grass. by the time i woke up, i saw it was like frost in the fall in iowa. the little amount of snow was melting as the sun moved into shadowed areas. most of the ground was snow-less by 9:30 a.m ( Read more... )

on the front page of the local newspaper today is an article entitled "it's so cold!". the first couple sentences are "how cold is it? so cold that even today's high sets a record low."

brrr. at least i'll get some more use from my long underwear.
