so this morning, i've been reading girls' poker night by jill a. davis. i can't help thinking, "sarah's right--this is how i talk. this is something i would write." of course, what i need to remember is that if i couldn't see some of myself in this character, if every person who reads it couldn't see some of herself, it wouldn't be a national bestseller. which it is. however, i do have outside confirmation that it reads like something i would write. well... what sarah meant was, it reads like the stories i tell, the way i talk. the quick, cutting wit is very me. not that you'd know that from my posts on here...

i feel like such a poser writing this post, telling you about my wit that most of you have never seen:) "uh huh, helen. and everyone thinks they have good taste, too, but everyone can't possibly have good taste."

i'm funnier in person! really!

bah. forget it. i'm gonna go make cookies, then finish my book.
