the scrapbooking strikes back

i'm so a memorabilia junkie. i'm going to end up with at least three big fat scrapbooks of china stuff. plus three binders of notes from my students. plus six bunches of namecards they filled out for me. plus like 15 10-15 minute vcds of pictures/videos. and let's not even get into my cache of really chinese-y things (from clocks to cell phone danglies to sandalwood combs). going back to china is just going to exacerbate the situation. although i expect i'd take less pictures my second time there. or i'd at least feel less like i needed the pictures printed out and put into an album.

i mention this because i've just begun my second of a probable triology of china scrapbooks from last year. interestingly, i'm chronologically to the point in my pictures from exactly a year ago. a little past right now, actually. this exact time last year, i was probably finishing up the mind-numbing final exams. i'm scrapbooking pictures from xingtai (a highlight of my time in china), which was mid-to-late january. i think that detail made this post just that little bit more boring:) ah well.

china, memories
