25/52 for the 2014 weekly alphabet challenge
This week's theme was: Y is for Youth
Small children always seem to have so much energy. A moment or so before, they were climbing all over the grey things, which are something to do with the cricket pitch (mobile score boards, perhaps?). Then a parent must have spotted what they were doing and went to call them back, whereupon they came racing over the grass to where their mums were sitting.
Actually, one of the reasons for lack of posting was that I didn't manage to take a photo for this challenge last week. For weeks I've been struggling to think of subjects to fit the week's themes, resulting in last minute bursts of inspiration and photos grabbed on the final day of the week. But last week inspiration stubbornly refused to come. It wasn't even a terribly hard challenge. But anyway, the project is back on track, even if this is just a shot grabbed with my new mobile phone. It would have been a better shot if I'd taken it with the big camera, but I am wary of pointing the big camera anywhere near children, so casually pretending to be taking general views with my phone was a more sensible option. Anyway, the best camera is the one you have with you, and this was it! :)
Having said that, I quite like the juxtaposition of the children in front of the old church with the graveyard in the background and the Gorsedd stones on the right. Some things are old, some things relate to ancient traditions, but there is new growth in the green trees and a new generation coming along.
