Saturday was the family outing to the Ren fair. My sister in law and her husband discovered ren fairs a few years ago and thinks it is the best thing ever. Somehow we got dragged into going to Shrewsbury with them. We refused point blank to dress for the occasion, much to their disappointment. We only went for Saturday afternoon thankfully. It was hot, dry and dusty. Robert watched the jousting, but I gave up halfway. Saw a fair number of SCA people much to the rest of the family's delight.
The first Monday night social went fairly well, despite having to change rooms due to a power outage. Lots of talking and projects.
Today I had my yearly check up with the doctor. The blood draw part had its usual complications. Both arms have puncture marks and blue marks from the tourniquet.
I spent most of tonight brushing up on my maru dai techniques. I have not done any braiding since I moved here. I am tempted to try some fine braids in DMC just to find out how rusted I really am. Will have to see.
