I had a paperback giveaway contest in my most recent newsletter: congrats to Judie S for winning that, and I hope she enjoys her paperback copy of Hero!

Is it wrong of me to like historical novels that aren't bogged down in lots of historical details?

I'm a little bit of both, but in general, I'm with you. If it's too much inventory of the lace on the hem of the gown, I start skimming.

I don't need any more clothing details than I'd need with a contemporary. Hmm. I wonder if that's one of the things I like about m/m - less focus on stuff like "outfits" that I find silly...

Technically a dandy would be fashion conscious, but... well, I guess it's down to style and preference. I like to leave details for people to fill in. But some people dislike that about my work. So to each her own, as always.

I'm sticking with you, though, C.

But it's possible to convey fashion consciousness without scads of excruciating detail... :)
