One of these silent sulking Saturdays (homework’s waiting, one wants to become a travelling monk, etc.) I managed to get away from it all and go on a Isobe Mieko&Company’s concert, held in Teatr Wielki. Hehe, the most exciting subject being depicted-- classical Japanese music+some odori. xD Anyway, it was organized as a cultural exchange between cities of Warsaw and Hamamatsu- apparently they had a concert for us, and we gave them a Chopin statue. xD Ohh, but enough enough of culture. Let’s talk about money, rrrawr. :3 I bought a leaflet for 5zl, hoping it will contain something touching…ok, frankly speaking- that it would contain totally boring data which helps me with my oral exams for Uni. But all I got was a crappy 2-page paper, proudly announcing the cultural exchange between damn Warsaw and Hamamatsu. =_=* Moreover it had written that they will perform on koto(true), shamisen(false!<--and they had it described as a ‘bamboo flute’!!). Wtf? …Dear auntie, who had let you write it…?^^;
Time to calm down. The music. U_U umm… they chose quite a strange repertoire, that is, very ‘modern-sounding’ melodies, which were not really appalling to most of the audience (*coughing, yawning*) <--but Japan’s traditional music *has* it’s more melodical side too, ne? Plus, probably in order to cheer people up, “szła dzieweczka do laseczka” was sung. xD
After the performance I and two other ppl crept into actor’s room. @_@ All we wanted was an autograph, that is- ‘sainoo’, but our target was captured by a girl from daigaku and an old polish guy (maybe it was Mel-sensei? *_* -Saa, who knows..?~~sakura falling, stem from tea rising~~). In the end, we didn’t come out with an autograph, but a lavish gift instead. The only thing I’m wondering about--what can one *do* with that? 0_0* it’s a piece of stiff, embroidered material, about 20cm height and 40cm wide.
Is it for putting under glass and hanging on a wall? >_>’ …Is it for ‘teenage-style’ obi…? xD If someone knows, pls tell me.~
Of course, I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t make a voux-pas. =o=* It all happened when a nervous cloak-room attendant informed us that they’re switching lights off and closing the door, so we’d better hurry up. I took it to heart, and violently tried to put on a coat (brought into actor’s room by Magda). And then with my elbow I hit so.’s face. 0_0 To be exact, I ‘drilled’ it into ‘samurai’s’ eye, which, to be frank, was an aye of an old obaachan performing a ‘samurai’s dance’. I was horrified--I hurt a Japanese granny, and what now?! -- all I could think of was ‘sumimasen…hontou, sumimasen’, but a sec later it came to me that it’s a really crappy degree of formality. T_T life *is* brutal at times.*sigh*
