Well, I'm a big fan of my Ford Focus. Decent amount of engine power, fold down seats/hatchback gives a useful amount of transport space, and IMO really rather a nice drive.
Or will be, once I get the slight problem I'm having with low-speed idling sorted.
I also don't have a lot of complaints about the fiesta I used to drive (well, other than it was slow, and it died of old age). That was an N reg though, I don't know how/if new models have improved.
thanks for this, we were vaguely directing ourselves toward ford stuff, if nothing else because they seem to be the most commonly available hence more to choose from. Ermm... my ignorance is gargantuan: what does "insurance group 7" actually mean? *hides in embarassment* on a different subj: how was bbq at your sis?
Insurance 'groups' go from 1 to 20. They're rough indications for how much insurance is going to cost. group 1 would be something like a 900cc fiat panda, which is unlikely to get nicked, is never going to be driven by a 'racer' and basically doesn't actually have much value anyway.
Group 20 is a 'rally edition' car, which goes like a bomb, and is prime stuff for stealing.
It's some kind of metric of probability of payout on the car, comprised of likelyhood of theft/accidents. (the latter often due to the kind of driver...)
Ta, it makes more sense now. Out of curiosity, how do I find out what insurance group a car is, e.g. the lump of scrap the rover is at mo? for comparison purposes, you understand... You do realise that you have a real knock for NOT answering questions? :D try again: how was bbq and wkend at your sis? :)
The Barbeque was sort of not a barbeque because of the weather. It was a 'grill'. But it was good. The weekend has helped, I'm feeling a little more mellow and with it.

Ironically, both are/were in insurance group 7.
