I can't speak to customizing Mac keyboards to Windows functions, but for Macs printscreen is Command-Shift-3, which will save the screencap to your desktop....

Mac folks, can you customize the functions of the keys on the Mac keyboards?

Short answer: Yup. Have been able to for, approximately, forever. There's a "Help" page that comes with your O/S with instructions, but here's a picture from Apple of the GUI menu in Tiger (OS 10.4) that you can use: http://www.apple.com/pro/tips/keyboard.html

Also, there are standard "print screen" and "print selection" shortcuts, but they are multi-key combos, so I could see wanting to set up a one-key version. There are lists of the already-extant shortcuts pretty much all over the Web; just google "mac keyboard shortcuts".

I think everybody on my flist is going to hear all about the mac experience as it happens, so really, I'm not only happy to let you know how the whole hard drive partitioning goes, I'm thrilled to know that not everybody who sees these posts is bored to death by them. The plan is to use Bootcamp as everyone I've talked to said that with games and their 3d requirements and such, that's the way to go. I swung by the store and picked up Windows and Office for Mac a couple days ago, and the computer is in my city at the local Fed Ex facility, so it should be here soon.

I have a hard time imagining a stage filled with 400 macs all lined up in cute little rows. Totally must have been surreal.
