Andthefirejustwontcatch.
I have walked these vales before,
Winded out invisible strings--
wires from the MotherEarth,
God for a mortal in me,
and for the immortal in
eyelight.
Andthefirejustowntcatch.
I have searched these inky
caverns before, I have run,
dribbled, drooled down the stony
face of forgotten cliff sides,
mountain sides, bright days,
and dark nights.

I have mellowed in the cool
smoke of afterdawn. And dined
in the drawling heat of Southern
days.

Tomorrow, I will start again.
Circling in already the perfection
of drawing the perfect circle.
I will pitch my tent, against the
canvas afterlight of autumn, and
of NO-vember. And of the rest days of
to morrows. For ever, and a day,
let them be as they be.

Soulight. Starlight. Eyelight.
