Thoughts on Heroes 1.16 "Unexpected."
So much glee for Radioactive Ted. His screen name is TeddyBear616! "Why come to me?" Um, 'cause you're radioactive?
LOVING the Isaac-HRG interaction.
Hiro is WAY adorable.
I love how Peter Petrelli = Sam Winchester. You know, what with all of the dewy-eyed idealism and the apparently going darkside. When paint cans attack!
Much love for Lyle, btw. And Claire winning at finally standing up to her dad/coming clean (bonus points for doing so at a completely inopportune time for Mr. B/HRG). Also, nice explanation for Claire not running away. And BURN on Mr. Bennet!
Oh, Parkman. In the sock drawer? Worst hider of things ever. Especially rolly things. SO not stealth. Silly goose. "I got a guy." What are you, in the mob? Hey, is their kid gonna have powers? I like the parallels between Matt and Mr. Bennet. Both are just trying to protect their families-- and it's quickly going haywire. The juxtaposition is reminiscent of the early parallels set up between Peter & Sylar as average guys, a little bit lost, a little bit dissatisfied with their lives, trying to be something different.
AND because of my attempts to write Nathan gen!fic (sadly not coming to much fruition) I am thrilled about the tiny little bit of Nathan we got this week. "Where Peter saw hope, you see disaster."
Always with the profundity, Simone. TOO BAD YOU'RE DEAD NOW! Seriously, BEST. ENDING. EVER. That INCLUDES the crash at the end of "Devil's Trap" AND the Dawson's Creek third-season finale-- two seriously EXCELLENT endings, IMO. And this wasn't even a finale! I CROWED, you guys. I hardcore WHOOPED. I was like "YESSS!" (My mom was all "...Uh, what?")
Oh, and some of the best lines of this episode:
"Good thing Dad's not home 'cause he would so drug test you!"
"Reach into that file cabinet of yours and pull something out! Fly! Stop time! Paint me a pretty picture! Do something!"
"What's an Ando?"
"You take me with you, or she gets away.... Pal."
"You've no idea what you've done." Just because it's SUCH a Doctor thing to say.
