Self Indulgent Entry: Pieces of Myself

Mar 25, 2012 03:57

I honestly don't sleep like a normal person. It's nearly 3am 4am and I'm lying awake reflecting on my personal character and how it manifests itself online. I'm sure these thoughts totally reflect that Philosophy of Technology class I took while still attending college.

(By the way, if you, Rare Reader, have not read "Life on the Screen", seriously, do so this moment. Its reflections and analysis of how people identify themselves using the Internet is nothing short of relevant and a bit haunting-- at least in my case.)

Juliet is a total recluse, her eyes are hazy, but switch to utter focus when on task. She's often dishelved, wearing perpetual bed head. She spends most of the day in her pajamas, which namely consists of a large cotton t-shirt, so worn down it's skin soft, and shorts. She occupies her waking moments between three base of operations: the couch, her bed, and her desk. Juliet loves to write. All three Bases are often surrounded by writing utensils-- piles of yellow legal pads, a whirring laptop, and her ever trusty smartphone. There is always something to write with, and always within reach. Her breaks between writing is namely spent reading or watching shows or movies, all in the hopes of gleaming some sort of inspiration and giving her the chance to be somewhere else, maybe someone else. Despite her appearance, what few friends she has have found her charming in her shyness and admirable in her tenacity to find information. Her brain is mass of thoughts and ideas, but so meticulously organized, it borders on obsessive compulsive.

Rekka is a fiery wrecking ball. In whatever the situation, from simple to dire, she dives into it guns and spells blazing. She has no qualms ignoring the consequences of her actions, believing that everything will work out in the end (and if not, she's strong enough to bear the weight of it). She takes each step solely based on instinct and is a natural in solving most situations without really know how. She is deathly loyal to her friends, and firmly believes that any successes she may have, it was because of the people who stood behind her, next to her, supporting her every step of the way. Rekka has fiery dark hair and dark eyes that gleam a playful madness and judgement. She's fully aware that her abilities are lacking, but she's earnest in improving them; often not for her own sake, but to support others.

Angie. Sweet, playful, Angie. She is full of cheek and dark humor, able to disarm an unwitting person with a sideways glance and cutting snark. However, it is always wrapped in a veil of (doubtful) innocence and an endearing smile. Angie's quite clever and often shares Juliet's love for gathering information and inspiration. But where Juliet is the recluse, Angie quite social. She loves to talk and meet new people, though her first encounters are often shy and a little awkward, not unlike Juliet. Though incredibly cheerful 98% of the time, Angie is sometimes known for her dark moods, brooding and angry, if she doesn't willfully snap out of it (by her own hand or someone else's).

Pau, for lack of a better title, is a Jack of All Trades and Master of None. She drabbles in quite a number of hobbies, from photography to writing and jumps from obsession to obsession. But, if you were to ask, though she's not particular amazing at any one thing, she's good at a lot of things. She loves being a mixed bag of pieces because then she's able to get along with just about anyone.

Cam is the writer for the School Week(ly) webcomic. While she preferred to write short stories, it was her former newspaper Editor-in-Chief that convinced her to find an artist and create a comic to keep readership up for the newspaper. She’s short and brooding with dark-rimmed glasses. However, when faced with a good book or comic, she turns into a giddy fan girl. She loves to wear men’s inspired clothing and as obsession with samurai.
