what's up?
My computer's been acting more sluggish than usual, likely due to the humidity and my desire to use it. Hence a while without updates.
I've also been busy maintaining the house for the 'rents while they were in Virginia to greet Lukie home as he got off his boat ship.
I went to the doctor again on Tuesday to check on the progress of the boil. Imagine, if you will, that you took a mouth full of bread, chewed it up, and spat it out. That's what she coaxed out of it that day. eeyyuuugghhh.... ~squirm~
I am going to the surgeon on Monday to have a cyst removed, as evidently that is the culprit behind all this. I was looking over the forms they sent me yesterday, and from my scanning of the pages, the phrase that lingers in my mind and crops up periodically is "do not resuscitate order."
I also just checked my calendar to add the appointment. Aunt Flo is supposed to arrive that day, too. Glorious.
Orientation happens next week as well, and then the first week of faculty biz follows. And the following week classes start.
My Wells email is good 'til the 16th of this month, which means I'm still getting emails from the school. Faculty were just notified yesterday of what the decreases in salary would be. The email said they'd soon be notifying people individually regarding their personal salaries. Holy. Cow. Both amount of decrease and the lateness of notice.
Finally, the night before last, I had a really wonderful dream in which murphy_willing and I had a heart-to-heart during an impromptu reunion at Wells, on the ledge of a building over-looking a courtyard that the two dream-us evidently used to frequent as students. It was a very touching dream, and left me with a feeling I can only describe as fondness for my friends; a sort of missing that is happy and not painful or sad.
Remembering it still makes me smile :)
