Happy Birthday to Us!

Hello, heave_ho-ers.

I had forgotten that last Monday was our 5th anniversary! Thank you, everyone who has mocked all of the atrocious Sueage that has come our way over the years. In return, I have updated the “memories,” got us a brand-new Mary Sue definition on the profile, and added tags for each rating. Feel like you can stomach all of the “ ( Read more... )

He sat on his organ

No, not AT his organ, ON his organ. Oh, that's just priceless. No wonder he always has such a bad temper, that can't be comfortable!

Oh yes, Happy Birthday! :)

Actually, I don't care what badfic it is, as long as it really deserves sporking. *g* And that's normally the case with the examples you gave, so... whatever can be an entertaining sporking as good for me. :)

Hilarious idea with the screen caps! :D

Happy birthday to us! *cheers and waves pompoms around* I was afraid that this community had died forever. I loved the Davy Jones one. XD

As for me, my favorite badfics are the ones where the mary sues are so bad that you don't care about sporking it. But I also can like the writing style to be good, and it's just the subject matter that's badly done. Whichever works!

*has just discovered an old fanfiction she wrote where a fancharacter makes a deal with Davy Jones to destroy the Mary Sues on the Dutchman...*

Oh my! Jack's face says it all, doesn't it? And Davy sitting on his organ. Thank you!

For a moment, I missed some punctuation at the beginning and thought 'Davy Jones' Organ' was the answer to the question, 'What part of Davy Jones cannot set foot on land but once every ten years?' I'm very relieved it wasn't.

I like this comm because I enjoy seeing truly bad Pirates fic skilfully mocked. The Mary Sue thing makes a nice yardstick of badness, but I'm not really more bothered about Mary Sues than about other features of Teh Bad. The worse the badfic, the happier I am, especially if it's really badly written--it's funnier that way, and it helps relieve lingering traces of guilt about the mocking.
