A couple of weeks ago, I attended a local jewelry store's trunk sale. I didn't know how good of a deal I would be able to find on wedding bands, because I knew it was a bit if a high-end shop, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
Well, I bought Lance's band, no problem--it's titanium and looks a lot like this:
We're a bit concerned that it will be too big, but we don't know yet--and anyway, titanium is nice and light, so I think we'll be fine. Maybe we'll insure it just to be safe, though.
I also found a band for myself that I LOVED, but--eek! It was $565!
I can't find a picture anywhere of anything online that looks similar, but basically, it was a small princess-cut blue topaz, then a very thin band of white gold, then a round diamond, then a thin band of white gold, all the way around. It looked like it was MADE for my engagement ring, and it actually sat flush with it! This has been a major concern of mine, because the setting on my stone makes it impossible for a regular band to sit flat against the e-ring.
Well, I called Lance. I begged. I pleaded. I told him we could pay for it on layaway at $200/month. He would not budge.
I still don't have my band, and at over $550, I'm not sure I ever will. I wasn't expecting to spend more than $200 on either of our bands--we didn't need anything fancy. *sigh*
Any of you fall in love with a wedding band that was way out of your price range?
