I had one of the best weekends that I've had in a loooong time. Friday was pretty low-key. We just watched TV and went grocery shopping. Saturday, though, was awesome. I was actually productive, and cleaned (part) of the kitchen. Then I made yummy carrot cake frome scratch for Natasha's birthday party.
Natasha's birthday/halloween party Sat night was such a blast. I love people from church - we always have a good time. Holly came with me - she dressed up as a bee, and I went as a baseball fury (from The Warriors). My costume would have been better had I not gotten makeup on it. Eh, such is life. Anyway, at Natasha's we played several different games that resulted in lots of laughter. There was also a costume contest that resulted in a tie, and a subsequent dance-off. Not just any dance-off, mind you. It was dance-off where there was no music except us singing/badly rapping the words to the song of their choice. I'm amazed that we all know the words to "baby got back." And we were all completely sober.
Today, after church, one of the moms of some of my former Brentwood students invited all of us to her house for lunch. She'd cooked a TON of food for the college kids, but only 2 showed up to church that morning. So, she invited all the singles (and I invited Holly). Not only did we get free home-cooked food (pot roast!), but we also had much fun playing games and hanging out some more.
Then...Holly and I went to house church, which is actually a different church congregation than either of us go to on Sundays. I really like going there on Sunday evenings. It's a good discussion followed by a meal together. A few of the people from there went to college with us, and the rest are just cool people in general.
I think that as a direct result of this weekend, I'm probably going to be deagged to a karaoke night sometime in the very near future. I suppose that's just the price to pay.
