Ok...so I'm posting, and I want a lot of you guys to comment. I'm tired of logging in and seeing the comments about Mitzi's death on my "home page". Not that I don't appreciate the sentiments - I'm just tired of seeing it every time I log onto LJ.

Life has been extremely busy recently, but also good. I really enjoy the elementary school. The kids are fun, and my coworkers are awesome. That being said, I'm currently playing hookey from my staff development today. Nothing on the school-wide agenda applied to me - and my classroom is being used for a district pre-k meeting. I don't want to be forced into sitting through meetings that have zero relevence. I mean really - I don't need training for the computer program in which regular teachers have to enter the kids' test scores. I don't need training for reading or math strategies. The one thing that would have been relevent - art teachers at all the bilingual campuses meeting to discuss ESL strategies in the art room, and ways art can support our school's math and science goals - my principal said I couldn't go. Apparently, she thinks I'm going to be able to get more specific information on my campus by sitting through meetings not tailored for art, and collaborating with people who know nothing of what happens in an art room. Yeah, right.

So...I decided that rather than spend the day being miserable and resentful, I'd just use one of my sick days and stay home. Lord knows I have a ton of stuff to do outside of school. Plus, I've been feeling a bit crappy anyway.

So, today - I'm going to catch up on some reading for the 2 Bible studies I'm involved with. I'm also going to catch up on some TV. I'm going to FINALLY PUT AWAY MY LAUNDRY!!! I'm going to clean the kitchen, and many other things.

On another note, I'm really enjoying the 2 Bible studies. It's a lot of reading and outside work in my already busy life, but it's been good for my spiritual life. Plus, I really enjoy hanging out with the people from church. We always have a really good time. This weekend, Holly and I are going to a birthday costume party, and I'm planning on going as a Baseball Fury from The Warriors. I've been wanting to do it for a couple of years now, and I'm finally just going to do it. I need to track down all the stuff for it. The reason I've been putting it off, is that in order to do it right, it's a lot of work and a bit more money than I have wanted to spend. But 3 years of wanting to be the same thing for Halloween is ridiculous.

Ok, I'm off to be productive. Remember - I want comments! Even if you don't have anything significant to say.
