I must have missed the memo that Valentine's day is the new St. Patrick's day. You have to wear red. From head to toe. With as many shiny or sparkly accessories as possible. Preferably heart shaped accessories that blink or play songs.

I'm so uncool.

Just the mental picture of that is giving me a headache.

yeah, I even got pinched for not wearing red.

Is it time to go home yet?

Pinched.

For not wearing red.

Oh HELL no. That's a good way to get another St. Valentine's Day Massacre going.

Oh my god. Seriously? I would have punched that person someplace ouchy. Twice.

I inadvertently ended up wearing red today, but only because that top was clean and the least wrinkled one nearest my bed.

Lemme guess--this was at work? I think it's an "anyone but art teachers" thing...my English teachers especially were all always really into the cutesy stuff, with the room-decorating and holiday lapel pins and the cupcakes.

But then, I dealt with it. After all, I am always up for cupcakes. ;)

Totally not on topic, but - Oh my goodness! You have a Flight of the Conchords icon! I didn't think anyone else loved them. I have this feeling that they're like Eddie Izzard and will only be a secret for so long.

I have to tell you, I don't know anyone in person but me who has even heard of Flight of the Conchords, but I have made a ton of new LJ friends just with this icon! It's been pretty cool too, because they have all been fun, interesting people. FOTC has good fans, it seems!

And I know what you mean about the unexpected popularity. I felt all special and in-the-know until I read some of the FOTC forums on What the Folk and saw how many fans they have. I guess I'll just have to share my Jemaine love with EVERYONE. ;)

Have you seen the new Outback commercials with Jermaine? I was kind of freaked out the first time he came on TV. And then went, "Hold the phone - isn't he a kiwi?" We took an actual Australian visitor to Outback Steakhouse once and she just laughed and laughed. My boyfriend was a waiter there once for a few months - when he got a table full of Australians, their reaction was pretty much the same.

OMG, yes! I happened across the first commercial during the Super Bowl and was totally surprised since a) I had no idea that he was even *in* any commercials right now, and b) one-half of my favorite obscure New Zealand folk-parodist band on TV, huh? It was surreal, but welcome, since I welcome any opportunity for more Jemaine in my day (and the second commercial is on eleventy times a day here!). :)

Hee. The mental picture I'm getting of the Aussies at Outback is making me giggle--it's probably akin to Irish people going to Bennigans and just saying "Uh-huh..SOOOO Irish pub, yeah". LOL.
