Life's been a little crazy lately. Let me put it this way: Today was the first morning I could shower on my own. The cuts the air conditioner left on my hands were very deep and open, and I had to keep them dry until they stopped...well....oozing. Carey has been an absolute doll, making the sacrifice and bathing all 5 feet 9 inches of me until I could do it myself.

Let's see...
I got moved from the hell mouth! My desk is no longer next to the busiest conference room, most popular printer, no longer smack dab in front of the men's room. Now I'm between the pantry and the copy room. I get less sunlight, and I'm further away from my bosses, but getting away from the hardy hars and locker room chat loitering is immeasurably wonderful.

The circus show has been postponed indefinitely. Funding problems. The word "clusterf*ck" comes to mind. I missed the announcement because of my cold and immediately mangled my hands. I haven't been on the silks in 2 weeks. Oh, and word to the wise: You don't use gauze to dress a fresh wound. The gauze ends up sticking in the wound and then ripping it open when you remove it. Learn from my mistake.

I put together a board meting in Miami for 20 people this week. Lunch, dinner, drinks, the actual meeting, golf, transportation....I did a LOT of work to make it happen, and I did it quickly. Thank God it's almost over.

I almost forgot about my birthday. The 18th is right around the corner. I always thought I'd do something crazy for my 30th, but I'll probably just get send out an Evite for a standard get-together. I feel very blessed this year.

Man, this economy's scary. The publishing industry's a wounded soldier. There's bad news and worse news. My personal plan of action? To go to Maui for New Year's. No one ever accused me of being overly pragmatic.
