My mom thinks she's getting a divorce. I am at a loss. I'm hoping that they just had a very big fight and that it's just the stress of everything that's been happening. I'm trying to get her down here for a couple of days. I think they need to get away from each other and take a few deep breaths.

In any event, I am completely heartbroken.

What I got was that she isn't Pam anymore - and the Pam that everyone liked had her hair back and wore a cardigan. Like character development is a BAD thing with these people. They all wanted her to take her hair down for years and she finally does and they turn on her. ARGH fandom!

I've never read TWoP all that much, and I'm really grateful that I never got too involved in The Office fandom, because frankly, I don't get it. Hating Pam, hating Jim, summarily dismissing good things and nitpicking EVERY. LITTLE. THING. TO. DEATH.

I'm with you, sooner or later, you've got to reach a point where the bitterness just isn't worth it. Personally, my dislike-turned-to-bitterness-turned-to-apathy turnover is usually pretty quick, but some people go years nursing that bitterness. Either let it go or learn how to enjoy the good things, for crying out loud!

You know, I never thought of myself as a positive person until I entered fandom. Now I feel like a veritable Pollyanna.

Oh, the nitpicking! THAT's fandom in a nutshell. There's nothing left enjoy by the time they're done.
