beyond bored
Okay, so I'm in Indianapolis at a 4 day conference/seminar thingy. The amount of fun I'm having is off the charts. I have been spamming tlace all week in effort to curb my boredom. There have been a few sessions that have been interesting/beneficial to me and my job but, really, I just want to go home. I miss D! I miss my cat! I sort of miss my job and the office (where they found a dead cat in the basement that no one goes in anymore because of the mold issues). I miss all the excitement.
Indy has been interesting. I haven't really done much, unfortunately. By the time they let you out, I'm exhausted from being up and stuck in a windowless room all day. I did go to Buca for dinner the other night and sat the bar and I think I'm getting used to eating by myself. It's kind of nice, in a way. I can sit and work on my Tyra/Street fic and eat spaghetti and drink a glass of wine and I don't have to think of things to say. Or the other day when I was waiting for my plane, I sat at the bar at Legal Seafood and had some calamari and watched football recaps which was great.
Speaking of football, you would never, ever know that the Colts were based in Indianapolis. ;) Not only do the building light up in a blue horseshoe but the trash cans around the circle have their schedule wrapped around them. It's crazy. I think I've taken more pictures of the Colts paraphenlia to torment D. with than anything else.
So my co-worker was supposed to come with me but ended up in the hospital the night before. I think he's still there, no one has heard from him. He never called me or left me a voice mail at work. I found out as I sat around and waited for him at the office on Monday. Not cool. Everything was in his name and on his credit card. Logan was kind of nutty about it but they let me through because my name was ON THE TICKET!!! Asses. The hotel didn't have a reservation for me so it worked out that he couldn't make it. The hotel itself is gorgeous and there's a huge bath with a tv and that has been lovely.
Well, time to start another round of lectures. I just want to veg out and watch FNL.
