barefooted like britney

Dude, my feet are freakin' killing me!!! No wonder that girl walked around in nothing. Damn you, new shoes!!! Damn you!!!

I bought a chair last night. My life is SO exciting! D.'s friend got a job at Ikea and gets a discount so D.'s all "we should wait until next week to buy everything" and I'm like "this is the only Ikea in like 4 states or something, I'm nervous it'll be gone" and he says, "I'm sure there are plenty" and I say, "I don't mind waiting if I know for a FACT that there are plenty of chairs so let's take a ride over there and check it out. If there's only 2 chairs left, I'm buying it, if there are 10 chairs, I'll wait".

Guess who was right?

NO chairs. Not a one. The place where the chairs lived was like an Ikea ghost town. It was sad. I find somebody and with just the right amount of panic in my voice, I ask if all the chairs are gone. "I can get you one," he tells me all quiet and hush-hush and I'm like OOOH, this is NEAT! And 10 minutes later, I had myself a chair. We still need to buy the slipcover for the chair, the bench & slipcover, and the ottoman (I already bought the cover for that a couple of weeks ago because there was only one left and I get way nervous about things being sold out). So next week, we'll get the rest of our furniture. We're also going to try and fit one of their couch slipcovers over my couch. They're pretty much the same dimensions so we'll give it shot. My couch is beat but he's like "We can't just buy new everything!!" and it was just another argument I didn't want to have. I have the feeling if I said, "Helloooo! I'm buying all the furniture", he'd think I was implying that he wasn't spending any money and then it would turn into a whole thing.

I assume moving in with someone is always this much fun for everyone, not just us.

We missed almost all of the Britney Spears interview and normally I don't care (which seems to be the consensus around here) but she just seems so sad and broken and used and a tad bit crazy and a tad bit too dumb to even GET it and I just feel really badly for her. I like to think she isn't that dumb and that last night was just part of some shrewd master plan on her part but she's no Jessica Simpson *ahem*. That the bad extensions and the gum smacking and the outfit (dear god, the outfit) was all part of a pity-Britney campaign that will revitalize her career in some way or get people to stop making fun of her, at least. I think the only thing she ended up doing was providing fodder for weeks to come for the late night set.

I'm working on something for Jim and Pam. It may be like every other great idea I have and let go but I really want to do this and I hope I don't burn out on it before it even begins.

I also posted "Christmas Party" screencaps at theoffice_us and you can find those here, if you're interested.

jenahville keeps posting beautiful Supernatural wallpapers and it's making me want to watch the show even more. She's purely evil.

It's Father's Day this weekend...I should get Rick and my grampa something. I have no idea what, though. I usually get gramps a card and caramel nips (he's easy breezy!) but Rick...he's my stepdad, I guess, even though he's like 6 years older than me but I don't know. I don't think I've done the FD thing with him before. And what kind of card do you get? I mean, he didn't raise me up in place of my sperm donor daddy so...whatever. I'm not going to have a fit over it. It's friggin' Father's Day. Like I actually give a shit. They're both getting a box of Nips! End of discussion.

Have a good weekend, everyone!!!
