Five Guilty Pleasures as a child/teenager
1. Sailor Moon - big time.
2. Dawson's Creek (headdesk)
3. The Young and the Restless (I... don't know what to say, except that my mom watched it, therefore so did I when I was home, and I may or may not sometimes still ask her what's been going on though it's been years since I watched. There is something comforting about soap operas in the fact that no matter how long it's been since you watched you can go back to it and within one episode know EXACTLY what's going on. *g*)
4. Various Lifetime movies. Does anyone remember that one with Tori Spelling where Kellie Martin goes crazy and stabs her with a paring knife because she's a cheerleader? LOL oh god. I remember being really young and staying up late watching it for some reason. And it freaked me out. :P I couldn't watch Kellie Martin in anything else.
5. Pokemon. Just the first season. (I DON'T EVEN... okay. I may have had a crush on Brock and shipped him with Misti.)
Top Five True Blood Characters
1. Eric
2. Tara
3. Lafayette
4. Pam
5. Sookie (yes, I actually like Sookie, and if I see that GIF of Jason slapping her again, I will cut someone. Give it a rest, fandom.)
(this was hard because I wasn't sure if I should talk about happenings on the shows themselves, or things that caused a stir within fandom at large.)
1. When JKR wrote that James and Sirius bonus scene on a napkin or something. Great scene and lots of fandom glee.
2. When ST:XI came out and fandom exploded.
3. Anything related to the Merlin cast DVD extras and/or Expo, and basically Bradley/Colin/Angel/Katie cracky RPF funtimes.
4. When Breaking Dawn came out. OMG THE LULZ. Between the the hilarious and scathing reviews, to the epic ONTD posts with the macros/gifs and sparkletext excerpts... the most fun I've ever had in a fandom that I'm not in.*g*
5. When Deathly Hallows came out (really came out, not the leaked book), and fandom was completely dead for the first 24 hours b/c everyone was reading it, and then for the next week or so it was just nothing but reviews and more fic than I could read, and all this stuff that made me laugh and cry and yeah, definitely a really bittersweet time in fandom.
Top Five Characters I Hate That Everyone Else Loves
(in most of these, hate is a really strong word that I'm not sure quite fits.)
1. Gaius. [Merlin]. I know he's old and funny and Merlin likes him, but I think he's a coward for standing by while his people were slaughtered, and I hate what he's doing to Morgana. If he can be a guide to Merlin without Uther finding out, why does Morgana need to be drugged?
2. Gaius Baltar. [BSG] Mostly, he annoyed me. He was funny and I think I would've loved him if I'd seen him in smaller doses, but for most of the considerable time he was on screen, I just did not care. The good thing about most of his scenes was Six.
3. Castiel. [SPN] SORRY MISHA. I wouldn't even say that I hate him, but I do hate what happened to the show when he showed up. I miss the earlier seasons so much. Also, he has like one facial expression. I think Misha Collins is awesome, so I feel bad about this, but yeah.
4. Carson Beckett. [SGA]. Again, hate is a really strong word. I loved him in the beginning, it's just when he came back from the dead, like twice, that he started to get on my nerves. SGA always confused me with its need to bring in more characters or bring back other characters to have screentime, whilst under-using the regulars who were there. I don't understand it, and I did not care about Carson. I wanted more John and Ronon and Teyla. It's another case where it's not so much that I don't like him as what happened to the show when he came back.
5. Topher [Dollhouse] I think he's a creep. He likes what he's doing, he makes inappropriate jokes about it, he doesn't amuse me at all. :/ I will say my opinion of him improved and I found him more sympathetic in the finale and his interactions with Claire, and in Epitaph One.
Top Five Merlin fics, any pairing

Top five things that make me happy to be a part of 'fandom' as a whole
1. The community of it. Especially with long-running fandoms like HP. We're almost like a family, and that's even more evident in the past week, with
simons_flower's passing. We really support each other, and I've got close to so many people I wouldn't have otherwise. Many people say fandom friendships aren't real, but that's crap.
2. RPing. Even though I don't do it anymore, RP was what really brought me out of my shell and made me less of a lurker, and I got to know people better.
3. The crack. Fandom is crazy -- I love the crack communities and crackfics and macros and GIFs and picspams, all of it - they're my guilty pleasure.
4. The fic, obviously. I can't describe some of the ways that fanfiction adds to my enjoyment of the source material. Fleshing out the characters, adding codas to my favorite episodes, showing my least favorite moments in a new light. Dealing with character deaths (omg some of those post-DH Fred fics...) Also, some of the writing blows me away and puts the source material to shame. And I like thinking that it's made me at least a marginally better writer.
5. Lastly, to get hokey on you guys, I'd say my f-list makes me happy to be part of fandom. *glomps you all*
Top Five 'Pairings' Across All Fandoms
1. Gwen/Morgana [Merlin
2. Harry/Hermione (shut up) and Harry/Hermione/Ron [HP]
3. James/Sirius(/Lily) [HP]
4. John/Teyla [SGA]
5. Spock/Uhura [ST: XI]
Five Unpopular Opinions About HP/HP fandom
1. If Harry/Hermione are incestuous, so are Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ron, or Harry/Ron/Hermione. They all grew up together. It's cool to ship one and not the other, and obviously R/Hr is canon, but you can't say one intra-Trio ship is incestuous and another is not.
2. Remus/Tonks is not that bad. Tonks is not that bad. I don't get the hate.
3. Snape is not a woobie and he is not emo, despite his lank greasy hair. I love Snape as a character and find his story heartbreaking, but he's not a NICE guy. I swear he would roll his eyes at some of the characterizations I've seen. The fact that he's a jerk is a GOOD thing. It's funny, it's who he is, it doesn't make him evil. Embrace it.
4. I think James/Sirius are just as shippy as Remus/Sirius, even though James ends up with Lily. I feel like Sirius is a little in love with James, and Lily knows it and is cool with it, and the way I see it they're all very poly together. *g*
5. Charlie is not a manwhore. Where did that come from? Is it because he's single? I think it's perfectly okay if he gets around and have muchly enjoyed certain fics where this was the case. I just don't know when that became the common wisdom and it's a little overdone.
