I went to Tennesee this weekend with Jason. We left Friday morning and came back Sunday night. I really enjoyed the drive down. It went by pretty fast, except for the last hour to hour and a half, mainly just b/c of the anticipation of finally getting there. It was a really easy drive. I didn't get lost and the scenery on the way down was absoutely "B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!"
So my allergies were kicking my ass pretty bad Friday, and my throat was pretty sore and I was coughing alot. I was glad when we finally got down there, and I could relax, though. I got t o do some swimming with Jason, and that was a blast. My belly ring fell out, though, and I couldn't find the little ball, to screw it back on. So my piercing ended up getting infected and closed up. That sucked b/c I really liked having my belly pierced. It looked really cute on me, and the ring that fell out is the belly ring Jason had picked out for me. I found the belly ring, I just couldn't find that darn ball so I could screw it back in.
Saturday was overcast for the most part. There was some sun on and off throughout the day and it rained on and off. We did go to the Hiwasee River in the morning and did some boating before Jason's mom's fiance had to leave to go to work. I went tubing for the first time in my life. That was a lot of fun. I was just chillin' at first, letting the boat pull me, enjoying the ride. Then I started going from side to side over the waves created by the boat, and then popping up over the waves. That was a tad bit scary, and I started to hang on for dear life! Lol. When the boat stopped, so I could be pulled in and get back on the boat, the tube went under the water, and yeah...I went underwater with it. I sort of freaked out when that happened b/c if you don't know this already...my number one fear is water that is deep to the point I can't touch the bottom of it with my feet with my head still above the water. I have this fear b/c I have almost drowned several times in my life, and I'm not a real strong swimmer. Anyways, I calmed myself down, though, when I realized the life jacket did pull me up out of the water and kept me afloat. So when the boat came back around to get me, I swam over to it.
Later on Saturday night, Jason and I went swimming again in the pool, and then later that night we rented movies. I laid down during the first movie, and can't even remember what it was that we were watching now, but I had to lay down and take a Benadryl b/c my allergies were making me absoutely MISERABLE!!! About a half hour later, I got up and watched Coach Carter, though, and I really enjoyed that movie. I would reccommend renting it, if you haven't seen it already.
Sunday was absoutely awesome. Well at least the part when we were still in Tennessee was. More on that later, though. We got up and went to Harrison Bay State Park and did some boating there. The lake is absoutely beautiful. Jason's mom said the closest thing we have to Harrison Bay in Indiana is Lake Monroe, and I guess Lake Monroe, according to her, doesn't even begin to compare to the beauty of Harrison Bay, and it was, I would have to say, absoutely BEAUTIFUL! The water was real choppy, which actually made it real fun to speed up the boat and go flying over! Lol! Jason and I both got burned, despite putting sun tan lotion on several times, while out on Harrison Bay. We dropped anchor, put on the life jackets, and jumped in the water and went swimming a couple of times to cool off and give some relief to our sunburns. By the time we got back to Jason's mom's house, we got a shower and then got packed up to get ready to leave.
The drive back was going by pretty fast. I was loving the drive back through Tennesee. I couldn't get over how beautiful it was. I would love to live in Tennesee...or at least visit there more often. Lol. I thought I would great time on the way back. It was 8 hours on the way down, and I was already making great time on the way back, plus it was a Sunday night, so I figured there wouldnt' be much traffic to deal with.
So things started to slowly go downhill, as my car's electrical system warning light came on. We called Jason's mom and her fiance said we probably had nothing to worry about. Then in southern Kentucky we got stuck in traffic. It took us 1 freakin' hour to drive 4 damn miles!!! This was because we were driving on I-75N, where there is only two lanes of traffic and everybody had to merge into the right lane b/c the left lane was closed ahead due to construction. So as we are sitting there in this traffic slowly moving along, my ABS warning light comes on and isn't going off. My car is also starting to get really hot. The traffic is starting to move a little faster, but still SLOW. We finally get off at an exit, right before the end of the 4 miles, so we could eat and let the car cool down. We got back on the interstate, got past the construction, where the left lane that was closed remember, actually ended up becoming the right lane being closed and left lane open...DUMB ASSES! Anyways, we are back on the interstate, and all these warning lights start lighting up, and I'm freakin' out, and my headlights are going REALLY dim, and my car is having troubles accelerating. So thankfully there is another exit right there, and I take it. The first thing I see when I get off the exit is a Pilot gas station, so I pull into it. I end up pulling next to a bunch of cars parked in parking spaces, but myself not in a parking space, and soon as I pulled up there my car died. I tried restarting it and all it made was a clicking noise everytime I tried. So yeah, I'm freakin out. I'm stuck in southern Kentucky with another 5 hours or so to drive back home, and my car is DEADER THAN A DOORNAIL! I go in and ask if there is someone who is knowledgable in cars, since I don't know shit, that can come out and look at my car. So someone comes out, and he tells me he thinks it may be my alternator. He tells me that there is a 24 hour service station and towing company behind the Pilot truck station right next door. So I walk back there with Jason and my dog (b/c I brought Cayanne w/ me on the trip). We talk to a couple of guys, and one of them says he'll send someone up to take a look at my car, if we wanted to walk back to our car and wait by it. The guy comes looks at my car and also thinks it may be my alternator. He jumps my battery, and my car actually turns over. I tried driving it back to this service station so their mechanic could take a look at it, but it died on me again and wouldn't restart. So I caught the guy right as he was getting ready to leave, and he towed me back to the service station. So the mechanic looks at my car. After a while of sitting and not knowing what is going on and getting a little freaked out as to what was going to happen, I go up and talk to the guys working on my car and ask them what is going on. They said my alternator had went bad and as a result my battery kicked in for the alternator to try to keep all the electrical things working on my car. Well, while I was stuck in the traffic, the battery was getting fried from trying to do its work plus the alternator's work, hence why my car died. THANKFULLY, I must have some luck, despite me thinking that I was having some bad luck to have my car break down b/c they actually had a rebuilt alternator from an older Chevy Cavalier there on hand, that they put in my car, and as they were doing that they were charging up my battery hoping that I still had some juice left in it, and hadn't completely killed my battery, as well. So they got my car fixed, and the battery was fine after they charged it up, and I was able to finally get home! I was DEAD TIRED, but I was glad to finally get home, and even happier, when I got to lay down in my bed and go to sleep!!
