I hope everyone had a merry Christmas! Mine wasn't as bad as I was building it up to be. Everyone worked out, sort of.
And then there was this:
Thursday evening Ken texted me, asking if he could bring a puppy home. Excuse me? 2 days before Christmas and you want to bring home a what? Yeah. I mean... I couldn't say no, but I was a little stressed already. Someone on his route found this little one, and had been bringing her to work in hopes of finding her a home. She was having family in town this weekend, and didn't want to leave puppy in the crate the whole time. That's a huge cop out if you ask me, but whatever. Anyway, Ken volunteered us. I was apprehensive to say the least, but what I thought would be a giant PITA turned out to be the shining light of the weekend. Yes, it was annoying to drop what I was doing every 10 minutes to grab a peeing puppy and take her outside, but she's so damned endearing that it didn't bother me that much.
She's been here 4 days and she's figured out the routine already. So far today (knock on wood) she's had no accidents. Yesterday she only had 3. The first day she had like... 27. I think she's about 14 weeks old, and weighs 10 lbs, so she'll top out at 35ish.
I really want to keep her. Like really. She's not chipped, and was found in a bad neighborhood. She was full of worms and fleas too, the poor thing. I think she's a jack russell mix, but she has a curly tail. She doesn't bark unless you put her in the crate to go somewhere. She's wicked smart.
Papu & Jet are doing ok with her. Papu is actually being really sweet and not acting like I'm slowly killing her by loving on another dog (that's never happened before, usually she's the ice queen when another dog comes over). Jet is jealous, and kind of an ass to her, but he's coming around.
So at the moment, she's looking for a home, but it has to be an awesome home and she had to be an inside dog. Maybe she'll just stay here, but we'll see. I called her little one at first. I didn't really want to give her a name, so I wouldn't get attached (yeah right). Little one got shortened to Littles, and I'm afraid to say it fits her.
Christmas was nice. I haven't gone home yet, so I still have my big Christmas to do with my family. Ken got me a Droid X, which is badASS!!! He actually got me this a few weeks ago, and I'm in love with it. He also got me some movies, sweaters I wanted, and some comfy pants & a robe from AE. I got him a power snoot attachment (so much fun to say) for the flash on his camera, some parts for his Jeep, and some really beefy seat belt harnesses for the dogs to wear when they ride in the Jeep (it doesn't have doors on it right now). Riding in the Jeep is Jet's favorite thing EVER, and Ken kept saying he wanted a harness for him. This was before puppy, so I only ordered 2 of them. Oh well!
Sunday I will go home to my family, and I am sooooooo excited!!!!!
Until then:
