want vs. need
I don't need to go to the Humane Society. Ever.
Because I will inevitably find one I want. This one though. She's my picture perfect dog. I have always wanted a small, female, bat eared pit. It doesn't help that she's a gorgeous color, and already house trained. I want. SO badly. I mean LOOK at her! She's is everything I've ever wanted in a dog, at least in physical appearance. Uhg.
Jet would probably hate her, and Papu would hate me for it. Well maybe. Jet would LOVE a dog with his energy level. If she's not a dominant type, she would be awesome. She's 7 months old, and would top out at maybe 50 lbs, so her info says.

At least our humane society is a no kill shelter.
