Services for the brain impaired

Birthday frivolity was good! We had the morbid picnic birthday outing. A large cluster of cheerful black-dressed freaks took over the lawn in the Rosicrucian garden for the picnic and proceeded to have a lot of unrepentant fun. Avia made the cake: a big skull with bleeding eyes. We were all joking that if she had normal parents they'd be taking her to a psychologist for making a cake like that. However, since her family is populated mostly by witches and freaks, we all loved it. People insisted on bringing presents even though we tried to tell them to not feel obliged, and that was very sweet too.

I am now definitely a fan of the Goth picnic; been wanting to do that for ages and now I think we should make some kind of annual tradition of it or something. Maybe not in March though. It was pretty damn chilly.

After picnic madness we wandered through the Eyptian museum and stared at mummies and oddments until we were sufficiently tired and chilly and went off for coffee and then mellowing out at the birdkins' house.

I am a happy girl.

There was an amusing discussion about what the proper collective term is for a group of Goths. I said "a snubbing of goths". Other proposals were "a depression of Goths", or "a scourge of Goths" (for if you're referring to the dark ages, sacking-Rome kind of Goths), or "a tragedy of Goths".
