I think I managed my energy better this year than last because I knew I was going to be overwhelmed and so whenever I didn't have to be doing something that I'd committed to doing, I pretty much laid down and tried to rest. I managed to get some good time with a few of my favorite people, but there were many more friends I wish I could have spent more time with than I did. Just couldn't though. I had major hosting responsibilities in the suite every day of the con, plus my workshop.
Coming home, or I should say failing to come home, after con was a rude awakening. The truck broke down in San Jose and had to be towed to our mechanic in Livermore, and we didn't get home last night. I still haven't been home yet. The verdict is still out, but after the expense of con I am really crossing my fingers for a light sentence. It's not a restful way to recover from the weekend's madness. I should have planned today off work too. I am way weary.
It was a good con though. No big hassles, lots of lively conviviality, I danced a lot and with gorgeous people I don't get to dance often with, and made good connections with other cool projects happening in the community. Workshop went well, I felt very 'on' and confident about the work: much power was coming through and continued to come through last night even in spite of the exhausting truck fiasco. I really need to get writing this stuff down. The book project really wants to happen and there is very little space in my life for it.
I guess that's all I can say right now. I'm feeling a little too wrung out to write anything deeper about my experience.
