He sighed. "Whatever, I have to leave for a date in a few minutes anyway."
Her heart clenched at his words, and she stepped forward to lean against the deck railing, trying to keep from crying all over again.
"Just get your shit out before I get back," he muttered, and then hung up.
Charming fellow.
She shook her head, rolling her eyes towards the ceiling. "Almost eleven years, and you two still think you have to thank me for every little thing."

He'd really begun to think that Seth was the one, the guy that would take his Hannah away permanently, and she'd seemed happy with him, so David had been preparing himself to let her go. Now it appeared she'd most likely be moving back home, and David found he was very nearly overjoyed at just the thought. He missed having her around, missed seeing her when he came home from work, sitting in the living room with her homework spread over the coffee table. He missed her ( ... )

A short laugh escaped David's lips in spite of his anger, and he felt a flash of pride.
Han pwning naked Seth is all kinds of awesome. *nods* xD
"How about some hot chocolate?"
He was rewarded with the tiniest flicker of a smile, and she nodded. He leaned forward and touched a kiss to her forehead before standing and reaching for the TV remote.
"Find us a bad movie to watch," he said as he handed it to her, receiving another small smile in return. "I'll be right back."
