New Appreciation.
It’s like any other day. No. Not really, Their at Jenna’s house for a much needed break, away from explosions and snipping, hacking and Max. It’s a barbeque that Jenna demanded their presence for; even Jolene and mini-Pooch are there to round out their eccentric family. Jenna has Clay and Aisha on prep duty with Jolene, how she managed that Jensen will never know but she is his sister so that helps to explain things.
Brittany roped him into playing a two-person game of tag, which is nothing more then the two of them trying to make it to various bases before they can be tagged. Despite the two of them, the game is fun and they are both burning their high levels of energy in attempts to reach Clay, a tree, or Cougar’s hat first.
It’s when Brittany has changed the base again that Jensen is running towards the front of the house to reach Cougar’s hat. He has to pause at the sight in front of him, his little niece crashing into the back of him in the process. Jensen was never really an athletic person growing up. He was the typical geek, preferring to hang and mess with his computer than go outside and get anything that might have resembled air. That changed somewhat when he entered the military. Still computer obsessed, he just learned to appreciate things more. Hell, he can play a mean game of basketball.
Now, seeing a shirtless Cougar, racing against the blacktop of Jenna’s driveway with a basketball in hand and Pooch on his tail; with the aforementioned hat safely on the grass away from the pair with two water bottles; that Jensen is treated to a every welcomed sight. The sight of the glistening wetness on the Spaniard’s back that gave Jensen a new appreciation for the game, than again Anything that had Cougar shirtless and sweating was okay in his book.
Cougar paused a good distance from the net, turned quickly to wink at him before tossing the ball into the air before Pooch could snatch it from his hands. Jensen watched as the orange ball sailed overhead and into the net.
Pooch chuckled, smacking the silent sniper on his shoulder, “Nice shot.”
Cougar nodded in thanks, walking to where his hat rest and snatched up his water bottle. Jensen has to swallow the lump in his throat when Cougar decides it is a good idea to pour some of the water on his body. A tanned hair comes up and spends the liquid over the muscled skin and Jensen is finding it really hard to not rush over. That is until he finally registered the fact that his niece was talking to him.
“Uncle Jay, are we still playing?”
Taking his eyes away from his partner the blonde smiled down at the girl, “Of course we are Britt.”
She is looking up at him with a wide smile of her own, “Good, cause you’re it and Uncle Clay’s the next base!”
Brittany darts off before he can get a reply in. He shakes his head, taking one last look back a little surprised to see Cougar staring back at him. He gives a quick wave before heading off after his niece, hoping to God that Pooch is not laughing at him.
End.
