Pity Party, Table for One (OTA)

Aug 10, 2014 15:10

Even being 114 years old didn't preclude self-pity. And, away from the village, what he would have done to deal with it would've been to go out with George and get shit-faced falling-down drunk. Or they would've stayed home and done the same thing, watching terrible telly.

So, here, there was no George (and he missed his best friend like a limb), and he seemed to have no friends here, Raven drifting from him no matter what he seemed to do, Mitchell abused his position as an employee of Ten Forward and took a bottle of whiskey from behind the bar. He then went to one of the Holo-suites and programmed it for the most mundane of purposes: the old flat in Bristol that he and George had rented, meeting Annie.

Leaving the door open, he fell onto the sofa, kicked his feet up, turned on the telly and cracked open the bottle of whiskey. He held it up in a toast to friends no longer with him. Then he started to drink.
