Post-rehearsal (Wednesday Night, gentle tag to Webb, OTA)

Tonight's rehearsal had gone much better than the last week's. When she'd been singing on her own, she warbled all over the place. Each note was in tune, but not always from the same vocal range. Tonight's rehearsal was more promising than last weeks. The new choir members are improving, which puts me in a good mood.

Humming the last song we rehearsed, I leave through the back door, jacket slung over one shoulder and briefcase in the other hand. As I round the opera house, I notice Moira standing out front.

"I hope that smile means you don't regret joining the choir?"

"I only regretted it briefly last week," she says as she walks over towards him. "Until Maeve took pity and got the rest of the chorus to stop laughing at me."

She considers him a moment and offers, "I was thinking of getting a bite at the restaurant in the hotel... would you care to join me?"

I stop at her approach and consider her words. Should I have intervened last week? I suppose it wasn't necessary. It's better if they deal with those things among themselves anyway. "I'm glad you're not that easy to discourage. And you must have worked hard since then."

Do I want to go somewhere for dinner? It's not what I had planned, but... "If you allow me to drop off my humble belongings at my room first."

"I'm very determined," she smiles. "When I set my sights on something, I don't stop."

She finds the 'humble belongings' a curious phrasing, but nods. "Of course." She falls in beside him.
