Artemis had been quiet since Destruction had left. Something about his absence made her angry, but there was no one to pin the anger on so she kept it quiet and close. The anger kept her distracted from the loneliness at least. She would not pine for him! The very thought made her stomach hurt.
Whether the many reasons for Artemis being quiet had anything to do with the string on her heart being plucked at and tugged towards home, she did not know. But the goddess could smell the familiar scents of the Grecian forests, and hear mumbled prayers from non-villagers when she wasn't paying attention. Was this what Destruction had experienced when he knew the time had come? The question eased the quiet anger in her, little by little.
The goddess rolled thoughts about home and all that she had experienced here in the village as she walked the streets in the night. One last stroll, perhaps a goodbye.
