Bouncing Back (OTA)

The upheaval the village had been in had driven Will to staying inside; for the first time in the village, he'd been afraid that he would be pushed to close back to the edge.

But now that it was over, he'd done some things differently. For instance, at this time, he was coming back from the shooting range. He didn't like how the gun felt in his hand (he was still holding it, safety on), but he was still a more-than-able shot. Even this made him tired. He was looking forward to feeding the dogs and sitting quietly; Carl made a great roommate in that he was very quiet.

He was walking back to the hotel, head down, avoiding any and all eye contact. He was very glad that the village was peaceful again.
